What makes this course different from other AI training?
Three things. You work on your own job throughout, not on exercises about somebody else's. You are taught to check what the tool gives you, to a written standard, before your name goes on it. And no product is named anywhere in the course, because the tools change every few months and the skill does not.
What will I be able to do at the end?
Choose the right kind of tool for a job. Write a request that gives usable output on the first or second try. Give the tool your own documents so it stops inventing facts about your organisation. Check the output properly. Produce the quotations, invoices, letters, reports and spreadsheets your work needs. Save what you repeat so a colleague can run it. State what may never be typed into a public AI tool. And put a figure in cedis on what the change was worth.
Do I need any experience with AI?
No. The course assumes none. If you can use a browser, type, attach a file to an email and save a document, you can do it.
Which AI tools do you teach?
Several, and which ones depends on your intake. The current list is on the Tool Landscape Sheet, which your instructor rebuilds and dates before every intake. It is the only place in the whole course where a product is named. The skills themselves work the same way whichever tool you use.
Do I have to pay for subscriptions?
No. The course runs on free versions throughout. In the first module you work out which of your own tasks would justify paying for a tool. At least four of your six must come to GHS 0.
How long is the course?
Thirteen modules, 62 lessons, in five phases, plus a final project. Session length and the number of sessions are set for each intake, so ask about the intake you are joining.
Can I do it on my phone?
You need your own laptop for the course. A smartphone is also required. One module has you build a set-up that runs on a phone, and speech to text is taught there.
Is it taught in person?
Yes. A company sending a team can have the course run at its own premises. It is rebuilt around your own quotation, invoice, report template and one of your processes.
Does it cover programming, agents or automation?
No. There is no mathematics, no programming and no model training. You use an AI system, you do not build one. The course goes as far as a saved assistant that answers when you ask it something. Tools that connect to your systems, take actions for you, or run while you are away are a separate subject. DSD proposes that as a follow-on course.
Does it teach tax or invoicing rules?
No. You learn to produce and check the documents your business issues, with every total driven by a formula. The tax rate is yours to supply, from your accountant, your employer, or current Ghana Revenue Authority guidance. No DSD document in this course states a tax rate.
How do I graduate?
You submit the final project to the student portal and your instructor approves it. There is nothing else.
Are there exams or marks?
No. There are no scores, marks, percentages or pass rates anywhere in this course. Your work is checked against a stated list, then either accepted or returned with written notes saying what to fix.
What is the final project?
You take one real job — your own, or your business — and show what changed. You time five tasks as you do them today, redo at least three with AI, and time them again. You hand in everything you built during the course. That means the template library, the skills, the saved assistant, the checked documents, the customer-facing material and the AI policy. You close with a costed case in cedis and an honest statement of what the tools could not do.
What if my project is sent back?
That is not a fail. There is no fail in this course, and nothing is deducted for resubmitting. Your instructor's notes name exactly what to fix. You fix those items and submit again, as many times as you need.
What if I do not have a business or a job to base it on?
Your instructor assigns you one of six case organisations, each with its own profile, source documents and records. You keep the same one from the first module to the last.
