Student Conduct Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy sets out how students are expected to behave at Deseret School of Design (DSD), in class, on the premises, online, and in any dealings with staff, instructors or other students. It applies from the day you register and continues for as long as you remain a student or alumnus.
Attendance and punctuality
Arrive on time and attend the sessions for the course you registered for. Repeated unexplained absence is followed up by Quality Control and can affect your certificate eligibility and your attendance score.
Respectful conduct
Treat staff, instructors, and other students with respect. Shouting, insults, threats, harassment, bullying, and discrimination of any kind are not tolerated and can lead to disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion.
Academic honesty
Assignments, projects and quizzes must be your own work. Submitting someone else's work as your own, or falsifying results, is a serious breach of this policy.
Use of equipment and software
Use DSD's computers, software licences, and classroom equipment only for course-related work. Do not copy, share, or resell licensed software or course materials. Report damaged or faulty equipment to Technical Support promptly — do not attempt your own repairs.
Recordings, photos and social media
Class recordings and course materials are for your personal learning only. Do not redistribute them. If you have not given consent for your photo, video, or testimonial to be used publicly, DSD will not publish identifiable content of you.
Prohibited conduct
The following will always be treated as serious misconduct and can lead to immediate suspension or expulsion:
- Violence, threats of violence, or bringing a weapon onto DSD premises
- Theft, fraud, or deliberate damage to DSD, staff, or student property
- Sexual harassment or safeguarding violations
- Attending class or examinations under the influence of alcohol or unlawful drugs
- Falsifying attendance, payment evidence, or academic records
Raising a concern
If something is wrong — a training-quality issue, a staff conduct concern, or a dispute with another student — raise it through your Student Portal ticketing system, or speak to the Administrator or Quality Control directly. Serious complaints are always escalated to Management.
Consequences
A breach of this policy can result in a warning, suspension from class, withholding of certificates or records, or expulsion, depending on severity. Suspended and expelled student records are never deleted — they remain on file.
